5.3. Is Jesus God?
A Muslim send me this blunt statement:
JESUS IS NOT GOD; HE
WAS ONLY A HUMAN BEING.
He asked: "How can Jesus be son of God and then God at
the same time? Christian, use your head to think."
My answer to such a statement (after I used my head and
think)…
Dear Muslim friend.
JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD!
THE BIBLE REVEALS IT OVER AND OVER.
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE... GOD IS ALMIGHTY!
Why not? Why can He not be it? Does it? Why can Jesus
not be the son of God and God at the same time?
God is an Almighty God. If that is how God wanted and did
it, who are you, so called Muslim "BELIEVER", to question God?
And then he even said: "Use your head to think"
Your problem, you are a Muslim "unbeliever", as
you rather "believe" your Muslim scholars and your Prophet and his
book but reject (not believe) the Almighty God according to the Bible!
Can I challenge you. "By faith believe the Word of the
Almighty God!" Why can't Muslims not believe? Do they not have faith?
Are they not able and willing to believe God and His
Word?
To summarise: In Christian theology, Jesus is understood to be both fully God and fully human, a concept known as the Incarnation. He is considered the second person of the Trinity, alongside God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. This means Christians believe Jesus is not just a prophet or a good man, but God Himself, who took on human form.
1. C.S. Lewis about “Jesus is God”.
C.S. Lewis said Jesus
was either a Lier, a Lunatic... or God!
What to do with the claim of Jesus to be God?
He said Jesus' claim to be equal with deity leaves us only
one choice:
A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus
said would not be a great moral teacher.
He would either be a lunatic — on a level with the man who
says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make
your choice.
Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a
madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him
and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God.
But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human
teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to. (C.S. Lewis,
Mere Christianity (1955), pp. 52-53)
2. Whats does the Bible say about Jesus as God?
Start with this one verse in the Bible... Isaiah 9:6
For us a child is born, to us a son is given, (what else than a prophesy of Jesus)
and the
government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
3. Is it possible that God could take on the form of man?
Don't so quickly say NO!
What does the Bible say about Jesus being the son of God
and/or God at the same time? Let’s look to other translations of Isaiah 9:6.
Isaiah 9:6 NET Translation " For a
child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. He shoulders
responsibility and is called: Extraordinary Strategist, Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace.
Or in the TLB (Living Bible) Translation... “For unto us a
child is born; unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his
shoulder. These will be his royal titles: “Wonderful,” “Counsellor,” “The
Mighty God,” “The Everlasting Father,” “The Prince of Peace.””
Muslims like to argue that the Bible says God can't be a
man as well...
Then they use Numbers 23:19 KJV... "God is not
a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should
repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he
not make it good?”
Muslims, this passage only says God cannot act sinfully like
man. It never states God could not take on the form of man... Or that God can't
do what He wants.
Muslim friend, just to make it clear. It's not Christians
like Peter or John or Paul that invented the idea that Jesus is God; it's the
Word of God, the Bible itself, that reveals this truth! Repeatedly!
Why not study the Bible where so many texts reveal that
Jesus is both God and man?
3. A List of #Parrot_Muslim questions repeatedly ask by Muslims about Jesus’ deity:
- Where
in the Bible Jesus says I am the son of God, or I am God?
- Did
God had (or has) a Son?
What about this return Question to answer those questions?
- Where
in either the Quran or the Bible did Jesus says he is the son of Mary? Or...
Where in the Quran Jesus said "I am a Muslim".
But you believe and claim that He is! Why believing this and
not the other?
4. More
about... Who Jesus is according to the Bible.
The Bible says: In Jesus Christ is the Fullness of the
Godhead.

- An Ex-Muslim answer: Why Believe Jesus Christ is God?
Can I challenge you again? "Use your faith and believe
the Word of the Almighty God!"
Muslims like to ask, “How could Allah, being one, have a
Son?” or misunderstanding the Trinity, as they sometimes charge Christians with
worshiping three gods.
Muslims, Please Listen, Christians don't believe in THREE
GODS!
We believe that only one true God exists.
Note: The TRINITY is dealt with In
Section 6 of this book.
Jesus Himself upheld monotheism. When asked for the greatest
command, Jesus responded, “The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:29-30).
Jesus taught that God is one, and Jesus taught that He was
one with God (John 10:30). In response, the Jews picked up
stones to stone Jesus because they thought He was guilty of blasphemy.
Similarly, Muslims would say a man claiming to be God would be guilty of
“shirk.” However, Jesus is not a mere man claiming to be God. He is the Son of
God in human flesh (John 10:36-38).
Many Muslims think that the title “Son of God” does mean
that Jesus was literally born from God as the male person in a sexual
relationship. The Bible does not teach a physical relationship between God and
Mary, as Muslims sometimes claim.
At the birth of Jesus, the angel told the virgin Mary: ‘Do
not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will
conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He
will be great and will be called the Son of the Highest. . . . of his kingdom
there will be no end.’ And Mary said to the angel, ‘How will this be since I am
a virgin?’ And the angel answered her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and
the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born
will be called holy—the Son of God’” (Luke 1:30-35).
John MacArthur explains these verses: “Since a son bears his
father’s qualities, calling a person someone else’s ‘son’ was a way of
signifying equality. Here the angel was telling Mary that her Son would be
equal to the Highest God” (The MacArthur Study Bible).

Muslim Friend, why not study the Bible yourself to find the
truth about Jesus.
The Bible tells about the Gospel, the Good News about the love of God. It will be too late to benefit from the love
of God after death if you fail to accept the grace and mercy of Allah in Isa
al-masihu.
There
is no second chance once we die:
Quran 2:167 “And
those who followed would say: if only we had one more chance, we would clear
ourselves of them, as they have cleared themselves of us. Thus will Allah show
them (the fruits of) their deeds as (nothing but) regrets. Nor will there be a
way for them out of the Fire. The Laws have to be applied. Period
of grace and mercy would have been over!
Muslim friend, you says your Muslims Scholars don't agree that Jesus is the Son of God, and thus our Saviour.
Two questions.
- What
if your scholars are wrong?
- What
if your book is wrong?
